The role of the American barn should be remembered accurately; It was the birthplace of invention and a common ground for individuals to work, teach, solve problems, and learn together. Entire economic ecosystems were born from atop its' hay, and the rebirth of America lay within its' doors.

Build, RVA is forming a FIRST® Robotics FIRST® Tech Challenge (FTC) Robotics Team for the 2017- 2018 competition season. FTC teams (10+ members) design, build, program, and operate robots of their own design to play a floor game in an alliance format. Guided by adult Coaches and Mentors, students develop STEM skills and practice engineering principles, while realizing the value of hard work, innovation, and sharing ideas. In addition, participants have access to tens of millions of dollars in college scholarships to assist them in pursuing higher education in their area of interest.
We are looking for students in the age range of 12-16 to join the team and participate in this exciting STEM educational adventure. You do not need any specific skill sets or experience to participate, you'll learn them “on the job” during the competition season.
