Our core competency is to enable everyone to build. This core competency is achieved through constantly working to reduce our membership price, and is not an isolated goal. To achieve ever lessening costs for accessing the facility, safety and usage training on the tools, and more, we emphasize these subsidiary principles:
Individual Responsibility – Each individual is responsible for cleaning their workstation after each use. No exceptions.
Use at Your Own Risk – Each individual must understand that using tools can be dangerous. Safety is a primary concern, and the responsibility of each individual. Tools can injure and/or kill. If you are untrained or lack confidence in the usage of the tools, stop and ask for help from either staff or other members.
Respect – Each individual must respect others, the tools, and themselves. Build will not tolerate any form of disrespect; whether a verbal slight against another member’s beliefs, a physical assault, damaging a tool out of frustration, or other forms; Build will always reserve the right to impose a lifetime ban and/or follow through with more severe consequences. The golden rule applies.
The mission of Build is to provide a place wherein members can gather to better understand and apply science, art, and creativity in their everyday builds.
